The Welcoming Association have secured a share of £15.3 million made available through the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund (CCF).
The Welcoming Association has been awarded a CCF grant totalling £172,398 over a period of two years (2018-20).
The CCF is a Scottish Government grant programme, managed and administered by Keep Scotland Beautiful. The CCF provides funding and support for community groups to help tackle climate change by running projects that reduce local carbon emissions.
Welcoming a Greener Future will offer free support to the growing Syrian refugee community in Edinburgh to adopt new habits in home energy efficiency and recycling. The project will also involve the wider migrant and refugee community in an exciting programme to encourage food growing. Moreover, the project will ensure that tackling climate change is seen as a key aspect of building new lives in Scotland.
