Befriending Week 2023 – Friendship Project Case Study
The Welcoming’s Friendship project supports New Scots (refugees, asylum seekers and migrants) to overcome social isolation and build community in Edinburgh. Through one-to-one and group befriending activities, participants are empowered to develop new skills and share their knowledge with others.
Welcome Packs for New Scots
The Scottish Government has produced Welcome Packs for New Scots. The packs are currently available in five languages: English, Russian, Dari, Ukrainian and Pashto.

2021 at The Welcoming: A Year in Review
We look back on 2021 at The Welcoming as a year of challenge, but also as a year of opportunity – to show what we can achieve as a community. We have faced challenges to refugee and migrant rights at home and internationally, adapted our services throughout the pandemic, took climate action for our planet, and developed our approach to equality and diversity.
