We offer free and impartial home energy advice to New Scots living in Edinburgh.  

The Home Energy Project supports with the following:

  • Understanding your energy bills
  • Communicating with your energy suppliers
  • Understanding and submitting meter readings
  • Applying for financial support to help with energy bills (if available)
  • Understanding how to make your home more energy-efficient 
  • Understanding how to use your home energy system
  • Support dealing with energy debt and setting up repayment plans 
  • Answering other questions related to home energy 
  • Support resolving issues related to setting up new energy accounts

One-to-one appointments  

We offer one-to-one energy advice appointments at The Welcoming’s Office (20/1 Westfield Avenue, EH11 2TT). In the appointment, we can discuss any home energy related issues or questions you have.

Home energy visits  

We offer Home Energy Visits to people who would like support understanding how they use energy in their home. Home energy visits involve doing an assessment of your home to try to offer immediate support. This support could help you to save energy by increasing the energy efficiency of your home, or it could help you to address any other home energy related questions or issues you have.
