Coronavirus Measures
April 2020
Following the Scottish Government advice on 16rd March 2020 for people to work from home to help delay the spread of coronavirus, the Welcoming’s office at 20 Westfield Avenue (Edinburgh) has been closed and all face-to-face activities have been cancelled from Thursday 19th March 2020 until further notice.
With this in mind, The Welcoming has taken a range of measures designed to ensure we continue to engage with our service users, partners and provide quality services.
Starting on Monday 30th March, we will provide the following services:
– English Language online learning for various levels, from beginners to advanced
– Wee Blether online: small conversation group
– Women’s Group online: weekly friendship group activity
– One-to-one support sessions: informal online chat by appointment
– Employment support: one-to-one online meeting by appointment and weekly Q&A online drop-in sessions
– Home energy, recycling and food growing support: one-to-one online meeting by appointment and Q&A online drop-in sessions.
We will also provide weekly update on our activities through the Facebook group ‘The Welcoming Members Group’.
Please note that The Welcoming staff team members are available to meet online with service users, volunteers and colleagues from partner organisations.
