Saturday 23rd March (10am – 12 noon), Sunday 24th March (11am – 1pm) Digital Skills for Arabic Speakers These classes are delivered in Arabic and English and are a great way to gain confidence with using computers for email, internet, shopping, banking and creating all kinds of documents. This is a chance to enjoy informal conversations within a small comfortable group. The session is run by volunteers Pirjo and Eva. English Cooking Sessions We have teamed up with Fresh Start to host eight English learning cooking sessions open to all our Welcoming participants. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet new people, practise English and improve your cooking skills!Each Wednesday morning we will be cooking a different international dish and then sitting down to eat lunch together. We will provide vocabulary flash cards, board games and most importantly, the produce to cook with! Spaces are limited so booking is essential. We will be running more sessions in May as a Wednesday Supper Club, so stay tuned for those details! English Climate Challenge Course- Coming to us in April! The Welcoming and Dynamic Earth are happy to announce the return of the English Language: Climate Challenge Course. This is an interactive experience which will be held at the Dynamic Earth Learning Bases It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about climate change using state of the art facilities. This course, first held towards the end of last year, is being run again during April 2019.  Please be sure you can attend the whole course and book your place as soon as possible as we only have limited spaces. Edinburgh Extinction Rebellion (XR) and various Edinburgh interfaith members are holding a vigil during Earth Hour on Sat 30th March between 20.30-21.30 outside Edinburgh City Chambers on the High Street.    A small group of handbell ringers will sound a symbolic chiming of 12, to Sound the Twelve Years as The UN IPCC 1.5 Special Report published October 2018 says rapid change is needed by 2030 – in other words – by twelve years from now.  We are encouraging the Edinburgh City Council to declare a climate emergency.   This will be a peaceful and orderly demonstration, in which all are welcome to participate. Please bring a candle in a jar or a torch.
