The Welcoming and Edinburgh Lothians and Greenspace Trust have teamed up to deliver five outdoor sessions for Welcoming participants.
Each week we’ll go to a local woodland area to explore Edinburgh in a different way: we’ll learn about native plants and their uses, hear how local myths and traditions are rooted in nature and most importantly, discover ways of enjoying the outdoors regardless of the weather.
All Welcoming participants are invited to come along to connect with nature, meet new people and explore Edinburgh’s natural heritage. We suggest wearing appropriate outdoor footwear and clothing, and have some waterproofs to provide for each gathering.
The sessions take place on Thursdays between 1-3pm starting on the 1st of February. They run on a weekly basis until the last session on the 8th of March, but there is no session on the 22nd of February. The meeting point is The Welcoming’s ground floor and we ask people to be punctual.
